Meet The Members

Look for this monthly post where you can meet the members of the Rapid Ann Garden Club. We're starting with members who have the longest standing and working our way down. They may share a precious memory, offer gardening wisdom, recommend a book or who knows...

Barbara Gerock

1993-present

When I was asked by Betty Gilbert to join the Rapid Ann Garden Club I was very excited. What a blessing. I have thoroughly enjoyed knowing all the delightful members. I have learned so much from design programs, field trips and knowledgeable speakers. Every meeting is enjoyable!

Kay Myers

1996-present

I have been around plants and flowers all my life. My love for them came from my mother and grandmother. They always had house plants and flower beds of some kind growing all the time.

When I was invited to join Rapid Ann by two friends, my first words to them was "I am not garden club material." I am so glad they invited me, for I have learned so much through the years from our guest speakers, programs, the trips we have taken and the community projects we have been involved with. Most of all I treasure the lasting friendships I have made.

Barbara Loffredo

1998-present

When I moved to Orange, there was a weed-infested area of dirt outside of the house that we were renovating. With visions of beautiful gardens filling my head I quickly became overwhelmed with the enormous job ahead. I happily planted some purchased starts and donated plants without realizing that many were invasive! Slowly I began to learn the right way to garden and became inspired by the very talented members of the garden club and it's been many wonderful years of fun and friendship. Nothing felt better than the thrill of winning my first Blue Ribbon!

Bobbie Elmore

I joined the Rapid Ann Garden Club in 1998. I knew nothing about flowers other than, I loved them. I have learned so much from these talented members.

I have enjoyed being a member of the Rapid Ann Garden Club. Thank you Doris Samuels for inviting me to join this lovely group.
