Cynthia McCarthy

2005 - present

I joined Rapid Ann G C with my mother, Clarice Poole when we moved to Virginia from NY IN 2005. My mother was my teacher in all things gardening and when I moved here I was delighted with the longer (warmer) growing season! I have made wonderful friends and have learned so much in this Garden club throughout the years. I just became a Master Gardener last year to continue my knowledge of gardening! This is such a rewarding life-long hobby! I’m so happy to be a part of this fantastic group of ladies!

Shirley Newman

2014 - present

I had the pleasure of being invited to join the Rapid Ann Garden by a dear almost ten years ago. I had become interested in growing vegetables and flowers and felt this opportunity would allow me learn additional ways to appreciate horticulture. I look forward each month to the informative programs, guest speakers, sharing design ideas with other members, field trips and great fellowship. It has been wonderful to share our love of gardening through youth activities and community projects. Thank you to that dear friend, Nancy Crowder, for introducing me to this wonderful experience.
